Following Samhain, the cull of cattle makes this a moon of sacrifice, of roast and salted meat. 

The Celtic Tree is the Ivy, which is supported by the Elm. Ivy is for Resurrection, Remembrance.

The Boar features in myths of many countries, as the strength of the god of the waning year. 

Christianity remembers the dead with All Souls Nov 1st, and follows it with All Saints Nov 2nd. Later Jesus entering the Tem ple Nov 21st, and feast of Christ the king Nov 24th.
